The Woodburn Firehouse Cook-Off operates as a non-profit organization founded by local firefighters which hosts a competitive BBQ cooking contest to raise money for charitable organizations. This local community event attracts the best of local and state emergency services personnel and other amateur BBQ teams to compete using their talents as cooks to provide a fun social family oriented event that everyone in the community can participate in. The 2nd annual event will be held on Saturday August 8th, 2009 (9am to 6pm) Location : Wooden Shoe Tulip Farms 33814 S. Meridian Road Woodburn, OR 97071

A number of BBQ teams will be competing for top prizes for the best food prepared by wood fired & charcoal BBQ’s. Teams will consist of emergency services personnel and other amateur aficionados’. During the course of the day visitors of the event can enjoy free sampling of team's creations, live music, and a delicious BBQ dinner free with admission. Visitors will also be able to vote for the best team.
Registration is open to all Amateur BBQ teams wanting to compete in the event. Teams will be required to pay a fee $50 per category (Beef, Chicken, or Pork) to be officially entered in the event. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th place and a Grand Champion with a people choice recognition award going to the selected team.
Every year charities made up of volunteers spend countless hours raising money for those in need. Woodburn Firehouse Cook-Off is made up of emergency service personnel and volunteers who have donated time and effort to make this event possible. This is a competitive event that can be enjoyed by the public and provide a way to support a charitable organization and to give back to our communities. |
